Sarah Krusen is a freelance film and video editor with over 10 years of post-production experience. She currently freelances for various production companies and post houses in NYC.

New York, California, México, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Spain, New Jersey, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Belgium are all places Sarah has considered home at some point in her life. Each culture and landscape has shaped Sarah into who she is today.

Sarah grew up on film sets; her father is an indie filmmaker. Despite going to college for Archaeology, Sarah was inevitably pulled back into filmmaking. She ultimately double majored in Communications and Spanish. After mastering FCP 7, she went on to learn Avid, Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop.

Sarah got her first freelance gig in 2008 with a television production company in downtown Chicago. Over the next six years, Sarah learned the ins and outs of network television: operating in-house robo-cameras, managing high-profile guests, editing interviews, and running a satellite studio. During this time she also edited three feature films, traveled the globe shooting wedding videos, and created a short film that won several awards. In 2014, Sarah decided to take a year off for personal growth. She moved to Belgium with her partner and earned a second Bachelor’s degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Philosophy. It was one of the best experiences of her life.

In 2015, Sarah moved to New York where she has worked on countless broadcast and digital commercials, two documentaries, and a short film. Since then, Sarah has continued to develop a diverse editing portfolio which includes feature films, short films, commercials, and non-profit videos. Sarah is currently based in New York City and enjoys growing a small indoor garden, spending time with her loved ones, and swimming in the ocean whenever she gets a chance. She is a member of NYWIFT, Blue Collar Post Collective, NYC Filmmakers and the FilmmakHers.
